Prerequisites
System
Either a PlayStation 3 Console or RPCS3 Version 0.0.38-18176 or later.
If using a PlayStation 3, the Console must be signed into your PSN account, up to date and not be online banned.
If using RPCS3, you must have an RPCN account and set the emulator up as per the guide.
Software
The latest version of ModNation Racers (1.11), any region. We have no plans to support older or beta releases at this current point in time.
Internet
A Fiber, Cable or DSL connection with at least 1 Mbps download and upload speed and minimal packet loss.
Cellular, Satellite, T1, T3 and P2MP connections may work but are not recommended if you are able to use one of the above alternatives. If using these connection methods your connection should meet or exceed the minimum bandwidth recommendation, have as strong as a signal as possible (if wireless) and minimal packet loss.
Dial-Up, ISDN and equivalent speed connections are not supported and likely will not work.
Your ISP must not perform DNS Poisoning and must allow HTTP/TCP/UDP traffic on non-standard ports.
Port forwarding should not be required and NAT Types should be irrelevant, as the game utilises a Client-Server model. ISPs that utilise CGNAT should not cause issues.
DNS Poisoning is not an issue and/or can be worked around if any of the following apply:
- You are playing on RPCS3
- Your router supports DNS overrides
- You host your own DNS service locally
- You are running HEN/CFW on your PlayStation 3 and can modify USEROPTIONS.XML
You may be able to work around non-standard port blocking using a VPN, however we will not provide support regarding this.
We do not recommend connecting on corporate networks. Any connection issued caused by your organisations firewalls/internet filtering should be discussed with your network administrator and not us.
