Server under new management!

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their patience, I know I really havent been pulling my weight hence handing it over to the very capable @skotter57 who is in a much better position to host and manage the service!

I hope at some point with enough motivation I can come back and work as a contributor on the side from a code point of view and not have to manage moderation and infra, though I have plans to continue hosting the multiplayer side of things alongside skotter for EU players to have low latency if clustering is implemented.

Thank you ALL for your support, patience and love, as well as all the kind comments over the years, this isnt a goodbye from me but im certainly taking a step back from things to focus on myself after a rather turbulent year.

First off, thank you for bearing with us all as we finish this migration. I especially want to thank derole for his time hosting the server, but also tireless efforts in working on and keeping this project alive, as well as jack for his amazing and continuing work on the database that powers all of our creations, and ennuo for spearheading the matchmaking services that let us talk to each other and fool about in ModSpot. I am by no means as talented as these folks, and they went through many hoops to let us play one of our favorite games again. Please join me in thanking them for their efforts!

I am officially announcing that I am your new server host, so for questions about the server and whatnot, please direct them to myself as derole will be taking a step back to focus on important things in their lives as well as allowing for more time to work on various projects!

Now, we also have some fun news here. There are some new features that have been implemented, some of them include:

  • XP races no longer take you back to the ModSpot
  • XP series races are fully functioning and award the proper positioning and XP
  • Race starting grid is randomized, so you will get a different starting position each time
  • Hotlap Tracks can be picked, added to a queue, or forced to meet minimum criteria in order to be selected
  • Anti-creation boosting methods have been implemented
  • Ability to give creators more slots on their profile easily
  • In-game various moderation features
  • XP levels properly display

and many more!

I want to note down though on the in-game moderation features. This does mean that creations that are deemed blatantly inappropriate for a children’s game will be reviewed by moderators, so we please ask that you respect this.
